Cold weather has it's benefits.

Yes I said it. There is some benefits to cold weather such as ice. I love the artistic look of ice cycles falling off of a water wheel clinging to rocks wood and anything else that has plenty of cold air and water working with each other. My last trip to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We had a nice snow fall in the mountains, but I wasn't able to get there till two days later and with our spring weather coming in. The snow had already melted and most of the ice was gone. The ice cycles that were left were falling off the edges of the mountains and everything else that had it hanging. I don't need the snow and ice anyway. To me Cades Cove is beautiful any time of year, And that is a fact. The fields were full of wild turkey and deer but it is still early for the bears to be out. Give it another month and you can go up there and see the black bears with their cubs in the fields. You can even see some idiots out there with point and shut cameras trying to get as close as possible. They don't really that a mother bear can outrun them and will attack if their to close to the cubs. ( Go figure! why do these people blame the bear for the attack). Well enough jabbering. Here are a couple of my photos, and please remember that you can see a lot more on my Flickr account. Just click on my photos on the right side of this page.

Just remember to get your camera out and take some photos.

Down with the weather.

The weather has been cold for so long now that it came as no surprise when when we got snow yesterday. Nothing stuck to the ground here at home but looking out on the mountains we can see lots of snow. This would be a perfect time to get some photos out there. The down side is that I've wound up getting sick yesterday and there is no way that I could handle the weather up there right now. I'm still taking shots here at home but the snow in the mountains would be so much better. If feeling better tomorrow I'll try to get there for a little while.
Once again I'll show you a couple shots so enjoy it and get yourself out there with your camera and have some fun.

Fun in the cold

This past weekend there was a event in Knoxville called Eskimo escapades. This was a charity event where people would give a donation to one of the three charities and then jump in and go water skiing. I still wonder if it might have been warmer in the water then on land. Well I managed to take on the cold for a while and get some photos. There was plenty going on as people took their turn jumping into the frigid water. A nearby bridge was being torn down and there were other sites worth snapping a shot at in the park along the river front. It was cold, cloudy, windy and just down right miserable out there. But I still managed to take pictures and get back home where it is warm. So as usual I'll give you a couple shots in case you don't make it to the Flickr site.

Some people were warm.
